LOKOJA—Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi, has described the death of the first civilian governor of Osun State, Isiaka Adeleke, as a great loss to the politics of South-West in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
Awoniyi, in a condolence message, described the late Senator as a man who was passionate about Nigeria, adding that he contributed to the expansion of progressive politics in the region.
Awoniyi, in the statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mich Abh, said the former governor would be remembered for peace, being a detribalised politician, who was loved by his people for his meaningful impact.
Awoniyi called on politicians to learn the virtues of humility, and development of the masses as exemplified by the late politician
