Ex-Anambra House minority leader defects to APC

By Chimaobi Nwaiwu

Nnewi—Former Minority Leader in 1999 to 2003 Anambra State House of Assembly, Ifeanyi Ibegbu, yesterday, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for All Progressives Congress, APC, with about 3,520 of his followers.

In his speech Ibegbu described PDP as “a party where impunity thrives.”

He also described the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, as “a cult” where only few members were enjoying while the majority were suffering and gnashing their teeth, saying that he was joining APC because that is where he found true democrats.

He said: “My political mentor and sister, Linda Ikpeazu, who is representing Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, approved my move and will soon join me in APC.”

“PDP is full of impunity. President Muhammadu Buhari seems to be the answer to their impunity, and I like his policies and attitude towards solving Nigerians problems. I am joining APC today because I find him and others as true democrats who have the people in mind, unlike PDP and APGA.”
