STUDENTS under the Presidential Amnesty Programme, yesterday, accused the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Gen. Paul Boroh (retd) of prventing them from completing their training at the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden.
The students, in a statement by their leader, Campus Leimokumor, lamented that since the completion of the 2014 phase of the training, they were yet to go for the mandatory, Sea Time training and Competency Programme.
Urging President Muhammadu Buhari to intercede on their behalf, the students said: “Originally, the programme is designed in three phases, the Shore Base Training, Sea Time Training and the Certificate of Competency.
“Three years after the Shore Base Training, we are yet to embark on the mandatory Sea Time Training and Certificate of Competency programmes in accordance with the Nigeria Seafarers Development Plan, NSDP.”
