National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations, NACOMYO has described the position of CAN Youth on the suspension of SGF, Mr Babachir David Lawal and DG, NIA, Mr Ayo Oke as alien to the principles and doctrine of Christianity, stating that Christ supported socio-economic transformation initiatives.
The apex Muslim Youth group charged its counterpart,Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria,YOUWICAN to rise above sentiments and jettison emotional feelings over the suspension of the two top government Officials and who are being investigated over an alleged complicity.
It is high time religious institutions stopped playing lip service to nation’s affairs, especially on matters connecting their brethren.
“It sounds absurd and infertile to reasoning that the suspended SGF’s travail was calculated to pave the way for his removal and be replaced with a Muslim when in actual fact, PMB, his boss knew him to be a Christian before he appointed him.
“Allowing SGF remain in office while investigation is on amount to a mockery of the exercise. Again, investigation by an authority against a subordinate over an alleged complicity could not have been selective, as opined by CAN Youth,” NACOMYO stated.
NACOMYO noted that righteousness exalt a nation and therefore enjoined its YOUWICAN counterpart to be broad-minded and support the anti graft war, which it (YOUWICAN) said it believed in, and which will aid socio-economic transformation of the country.
CAN Youth President, Engr Daniel David Kadzai, was reported to have criticised the action of President Buhari over the suspension of SGF and DG NIA,saying it was religiously motivated.
