Contemporary African Art Fair holds in London

Eighteen galleries from Africa will be taking part in the fifth London edition of The 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair which is set to take place at Somerset House from October 5 to 8, 2017, during Frieze Week in London.

About 41 galleries from 18 countries across the world with 11 newcomers from Africa  including Mozambique’s Arte de Gema, Galerie 127 from Marrakech, Morroco, SMO Contemporary Art from Lagos, Nigeria, among others, will be making what the fair organizers described in a statement as “its most geographically expansive edition.”

For the second year, the special projects wing of the art fair will host a series of satellite exhibitions, alongside FORUM, the fair’s educational program curated by Raw Material’s Koyo Kouoh.
