Eid-El-Fitri: Impounded vehicles will be released, TRACE vows

By Bose Adelaja
Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, has enjoined motorists to ensure strict compliance with traffic rules and regulations, during and after the Eid-El-Fitri celebration warning that  any vehicle impounded for violation of traffic rules, during the celebration would not be released until Thursday, 29th June, 2017, when the Corps would have ended her Eid-El-Fitri Special Patrol Operation.

TRACE Corps Commander and Chief Executive, Cdr, Abdul-Fatal Olaseni Ogunyemi, in a statement, said,  in line with the Corps’s mandate to ensure effective traffic management and prompt   rescue service on all road networks in the state before, during and after the celebration, the exercise, which commenced last Wednesday, will last through Wednesday the 28th.

He further stated that the Corps envisaged a high volume of human and vehicular movement, breakdown of ill-maintained vehicles,  obstruction and road crashes. Thus, the Corps is prepared to meet the challenge the Eid-El-Fitri celebration will likely pose towards effective traffic control by deploying additional operatives and co-opting the voluntary arm of TRACE Corps, TRACE Mayors, to man strategic beats and chock points across the state to check the excesses of recalcitrant motorists.
