Herdsmen kill one in Delta community

OLEH—SUSPECTED herdsmen, Tuesday night, attacked a farm settlement at Umueze near Oloa-Ossissa community, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State, killing a 15-year-old boy, Nnamdi Okonkwo, and inflicting bullet wounds on his father.

Vanguard gathered that the deceased was with his father, Anarobi Okonkwo, at their camp along Abalam-Ossissa Road when the herdsmen invaded.

A source in the Ossissa said the herdsmen earlier “chased farmers with guns at Azu-Anuga farmland area of Umueze-Ossissa.”

Confirming the incident, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka, said a case of murder was reported, yesterday.
