‘No plan to relocate schools in Southern Kaduna’

By Ben Agande

Kaduna State government, yesterday, denied reports that it planned to relocate tertiary institutions in the southern part of the state to other parts.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Andrew Nok, said this at a briefing, with his counterpart from the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Dr. Paul Dogo; Senior Special Assistant Media and Publicity to Governor Nasir el-Rufai, Samuel Aruwan, in ttendance.

The briefing was sequel to an earlier statement by the National President, Southern Kaduna Youth and Students Forum, SKYFOM, Galadima Jesse, who issued an ultimatum to government to reopen the schools in the area within three months.

The Commissioner said: “There is no agenda whatsoever by government to kill education in Southern Kaduna, but the state government is providing a robust plan to uplift standard of education in all parts of the state.

“There has never been any plan or discussion whatsoever that the college of midwifery in Kafanchan will be moved out of Kafanchan; it is very important to state this.”
