The management of the National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, will, this week, be unveiling its latest aquatic weed harvester in Lagos at its 2nd International Conference and Exhibition.
Speaking ahead of the conference, Mr. Muazu Sambo, the Area Manager of NIWA, Lagos, said the aquatic machine is specifically designed for inland watercourse management to cut and harvest underwater weeds, reeds and other aquatic plant life.
This, he said, is in synergy with what NIWA is doing to eradicate water hyacinth in the country’s waterways.
He said NIWA ICE 2017, as the event is tagged, will have the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi in attendance.
