Owerri agog with ordination of priests

OWERRI—It was celebration time in Owerri,  Imo State as family members, friends and wellwishers celebrated with seven clergymen, who recently were elevated from the status of deacons to priesthood.

The newly ordained priests are: Rev. Father Dennis Uwakwe, Rev. Father Samuel Iyagbe, Rev. Father Kingsley Egbujor, Rev. Father Marcellinus Njeze, Rev. Father Cornelius Nweke, Rev. Father Cletus Uche and Rev. Father Paschal Diala.

Speaking at the Holy Mass marking the ordination of the Claretian Priests at St. Mary Claret Parish, Owerri, Bishop of Markudi Diocese, Most Rev. Wilfred Anagbe, CMF, called on Catholic faithful to attend Holy Masses regularly, reminding them of their  importance and strength .

Bishop Anagbe, who administered oath on the new priests, urged them to live a life of complete commitment to God.

The Bishop told the priests to consecrate their lives to God and anointed them with chrism.

He prayed God to empower the new priests to be able to do His wishes.

About 70 priests from Anambra and other states, including the Head, Department of Mass Communication, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr. Onyeka Uwakwe, attended the event.
