3,500 Bauchi pilgrims to perform 2017 hajj

No fewer than 3,500 pilgrims are expected to perform the 2017 Hajj in Bauchi State, even as relatives of intending pilgrims have been barred from coming to Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi.

The first pilgrim’s flight from the state is expected to take off tomorrow.

The state’s Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Kawuwa Damina, said these at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, shortly after an inspection of the airport yesterday.

He added that government officials have met with the management of Fly Nass, the state carrier for the exercise.

Also speaking, the Manager of the airport, Engineer Abdulkarim Hassan, said the management of the airport had made adequate arrangements for the commencement of the hajj.
