ABUJA —THE Senate yesterday asked the Federal Capital Territory Admini-stration, FCTA to as a matter of urgency, suspend an officer of the Federal Capital Development Authority ( FCDA), over alleged N525million bribery scandal he facilitated between FCDA and allotees of 206 hectares of land in Kyami District along Airport Road Abuja.
Chairman, Senate committee on the FCT, Senator Dino Melaye, APC, Kogi West yesterday ordered the authority of the FCTA to place the officer on immediate suspension.
The Senate committee threatened further to probe the scam to its roots with a view to exposing all those involved and bring them to book.
Trouble for the embattled FCDA officer who works in the legal secretariat department of the agency, started with revelations made on the alleged bribery scandal by three out of the 15 allottees of the 206 hectares.
The three allottees in their petitions before the committee alleged that the officer refused to vacate litigation caveat placed on their plots of land as done to the 12 other allotees for refusing to pay N35 million bribe into two different dedicated bank accounts belonging to Ehimony Joshua.
