Huawei sends 10 Nigerian youths to China for advanced ICT training

In fulfilment of its promise to train 2000 Nigerian youths in advanced ICT training, Huawei Technologies Nigeria Limited has selected 10 candidates for advanced ICT training in China under its ongoing ICT for Change programme.

The 10 candidates were selected after an intensive training programme, examination and interview from a pool of 2000 eligible candidates.

The successful candidates are to proceed on training from September 11 to 22, 2017 under the Seeds for Future Programme in Beijing and Shenzhen China.

So far, 1,345 youths have been trained in Huawei Abuja and Lagos training centres on telecommunications power system , ICT fundamentals, datacom, base telecom station and microwave installation, as well as app development and smart phone preparing.

Speaking at the send-off ceremony yesterday in Abuja, Minister of Communications, Mr Adebayo Shittu, expressed appreciation on behalf of the government of Nigeria to Huawei in partnering with the ministry in the area of human and institutional capacity development.

In his own remarks, Huawei’s Public Relations Director, Pan Haiyang, who underscored the impact of ICT on development, said: “As a global leading ICT solutions provider, Huawei believes that only enterprises that align their core ability and operations with their social responsibility can achieve long-term and sustainable development.”
