According to a Saudi Press Agency, both Yasser Al-Kaldi and Ali Muhammad were the two suicide bombers who were apprehended before heading to target the ministry premises, adding that investigation are ongoing.

An official statement quoted from Saudi Gazette (online news) yesterday, said: “the Presidency of the State Security was able to detect and foil a terrorist plot of Daesh terror group that targeted to undermine the Kingdom’s security.

“Two explosive belts, each weighing 7 kilogram, and nine homemade grenades, firearms and knives were seized from a rest house that they used as their hideout in Al-Rimal district where the suicide bombers were provided with training on how to wear explosive belts and how to use them.

According to the source, the presidency officials were able to uncover and monitor the intelligence activities of a group of people who worked for external parties against the security of the Kingdom and its interests.

“The cell worked to disturb the capabilities and social safety of the Kingdom in order to stir up sedition and prejudice and destabilize national unity,” the statement said.
