There was something wrong with the way Marc-Andre ter Stegen ran, which was lucky. Had there not been, none of this might have happened. He might have given up right then and there, 15 years ago, and you might never have heard of him. He was 10 and playing for Borussia Monchengladbach, where he'd been since the age of four, when his coach broke the bad news.
