At least 25 people were injured in a truck and train crash in France’s Provence region on Thursday
According to the BFMTV television channel, the accident took place near a level crossing in the city of Aix-en-Provence in the Bouches-du-Rhone department. The TER railway firm train was on the line between Briancon and Marseille when the crash occurred.
Fifty rescuers have reportedly been deployed to the scene. According to a rescue services spokesperson, 92 people were on board the train, the channel reported. According to other media reports, following the crash, train traffic was stopped between Aix and Meyrargues. The circumstances of the crash are yet to be specified.
