The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrests of 20 Boko Haram, and 11kidnap suspects across the country.Among those apprehended between January and March, are a suspected
Boko Haram kingpin, Adenoyi Abdulsalam, who had concluded plans to
kidnap high-profile individuals in Ekiti State, as well as two kidnap
suspects, whose alleged involvement in the kidnap of two German
archaeologists in Kaduna last month, was being investigated.It will be recalled that the German nationals, Dr. Peter Breuning and
Johannes Brehinger, were kidnapped on February 22, at Pahkogo, Kagarko
LGA, Kaduna State.The disclosure was made in a statement by Mr. Tony Opuiyo, who
further noted that the on-going operations “have significantly degraded
capabilities of hoodlums, especially kidnappers and terrorists whose
activities have continually threatened the peace.”Apart from Ekiti, other states where the arrests were effected, are
Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Kogi, Nasarawa and Yobe, respectively.
