Lagos—Magistrate H. O. Amos of a Lagos magistrate’s court, sitting at Igbosere, has adjourned ruling on the application by a businessman, Mr. Akindele Afolabi, challenging the eight-count charge preferred against him till May 22.
Afolabi, 48, was the former holder of power of attorney for the late Madam Efunroye-Tinubu family of Lagos estate.
He asked the court to strike out the charge on the ground that the basis of his trial is civil and not criminal.
Afolabi was arraigned on August 11, 2014, alongside Alhaji Adio Kazeem, 79, on an eight-count charge of conspiracy, forcible entry, forcible possession, impersonation and breach of peace.
The police had also alleged that Afolabi presented himself as attorney of Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu family estate, a representation he knew to be false.
