Okowa commissions projects in Ugborhen community

By Simon Adewale

Delta State governor, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa, has commissioned a number of projects in Ugborhen community, in the state.

They include an ultra-modern town hall / civic centre, two blocks of four classrooms each fully furnished with a laboratory and various road projects across the community.

Governnor Okowa, who spoke at the grand reception organised for him during the commissioning of the projects in Ugborhen district, said  he was motivated by the zeal and fervency of the Ugborhen eommunity executive, especially the President, Chief Anthony Amitaye to commission and donated N1 million to furnish the town hall / civic centre. He pledged to build an examination hall in Adaka Grammar School, Ugborhen, even though it was not captured in the 2017 budget and also complete the Deghele – Elume Road.

Okowa, thanked, HRM Orhue I, Orodje of Okpe, the father of the day, Dr. A.B.C. Ojiakor, Chairman Seplat Board of Directors, Mr. Austin Avuru, MD, Seplet, Chief S.O. Akporie, Ugborhen district head, Chief Amitaye, and the entire people of Ugborhen district for a job well done.

Okowa noted that, if oil bearing communities would emulate Ugborhen by converting what accrues to them from corporate tenants who explore oil in their domains into tangible infrastructures such as the ones he commissioned at Ugborhen, the burden on the state for the provision of infrastructure will be much lighter.
