ABUJA—The Bank of Industry, BoI, and Borno State Government have set up a N2 billion matching fund for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises, MSME, in the state.
Acting Managing Director of BoI, Mr. Waheed Olagunju, in a statement yesterday, during the signing of the agreement with Governor Kashim Shettima, explained that under the terms of agreement, BoI is expected to provide N1 billion, which would be matched in equal sum by the state government.
He said the fund is aimed at empowering youths by creating job and inculcating entrepre-neurship development.
Reacting, Shettima thanked BoI, stressing that the project will further enhance the state’s ability to utilise its raw materials.
