It’s a new month and many churches are having thanksgiving services to express gratitude to God for being alive to witness the fifth month of the year. The number five symbolizes Grace to some Christians, therefore, they refer to the month of May as the month of Grace.
Welcome to the month of Grace. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abide with you always.
Today’s article is along the same line as that of last week but we’ll move some steps further and we’ll be looking at the Lord’s visit and its attendant consequences.
Let me start by saying that whatever situation we find ourselves now, it could be better. We all need to progress. You may not have any challenge that has a spiritual background or even any physical challenge but there must be something you aim at but you are yet to attain.
We all need divine connection for us to have divine intervention. Without divine connection, there may never be divine intervention. You don’t assume that because you are the creation of the Almighty God, you will have no problems or that you will not need to ask and you will get. Brethren, it does not happen that way. This is why the Bible admonishes us to “ Ask and ye shall receive. Luke 11 vs. 9 is our authority. Our Lord Jesus speaking “ And I say unto you, Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you”.
Now that we are clear about that, let consider five keys, which are so crucial for us to have the Lord’s intervention.
Faith for me is number one. The second is prayer, the third is the Word of God, the fourth is the name of Jesus and the fifth is holiness.
Other people may arrange these keys differently but one thing is certain, at some point, you will need these keys.
Our Lord Jesus said of faith in Mark 5 vs. 34 concerning the woman with the issue of blood who believed all she needed to do was to touch his garment.
“ And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace; and be whole of thy plague”.
Note that she had faith that there is power in the garment of Jesus. Given the number of people there, she knew it would be impossible for her to have a conversation with the Lord. She exercised her faith. Are you exercising yours? How? This is a question you need to ask your self and only you can provide an answer. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will teach you how to exercise your faith in Jesus name.
Prayer- Prayer we all know is a form of conversation with God. During prayer we express our gratitude for what he has done, ask him to do certain things for us with the belief that he will respond positively to our request.
Colossians 1 vs. 9-12 but our emphasis is on verse 9 “ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding”.
More importantly, most of us are familiar with the Lord’s prayer introduced by our Lord Jesus. Matthew 6 vs. 9-13.
Jesus made a very important point about prayer when he said in Matthew 6 vs. 6 “ But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly”.
The Word- Our communication with the Lord will certainly be easier when we find time to study the word. Imagine a lawyer going before a judge without any knowledge of quotations of the law. How does he argue his case? This is one reason why we need to study the word. Your knowledge of this become so crucial when you are asking God for something.
Is yours a health issue? You need to know what the word of God says about healing. The problem is that many of us are too busy to study the word yet we could seat for hours watching films, listening to music that does not in any way build our Chrisitian faith.
We have often heard that “ the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runneth into it and is safe”. Proverbs 18 vs. 10 …… With what are you protecting yourself, protecting your marriage or your children? Charms prepared by the herbalist, a piece of red cloth you have been told to tie around your waist, a ring worn on your finger to attract riches or a powder from the herbalist to attract a marriage partner? All of these will lead you no where. If you get any temporary respite, the end story will be bitter.
You cannot claim to be serving God and still depend on these objects or human beings who do not serve your God. Matthew 6 vs. 24 “ No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon”.
So I advise you to shelve the idea of anyone putting you under pressure to have children. Shun anyone who asks you to come and visit one herbalist, fake prophet or prophetess.
By the grace of God your story will be better and not bitter. You will sing a joyous song only if you trust and believe the word of God.
The name of Jesus –
Have you not heard that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow?
You only have to exercise total faith by depending solely on the name of Jesus. Once you are connected to Jesus, the Lord will intervene and your sorrow will change to joy unspeakable.
Holiness -In all of these, however, holiness is crucial. Familiarise yourself with the dos and donts of God. Connect with the dos and do away with the don’ts. In other words, avoid all ungodly activities for darkness and light cannot dwell together. One must give way to the other and you know that once light steps in, darkness must give way.
1st John 3 vs.22 “ And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight”.
May God give us the grace to do his will at all times.
Pastor Stella Ajetunmobi; a minister with Men of Issachar Vision Inc. writing on Divine Visitation reminded us that God visited Zacharias while he was serving God in the temple. Mary; the mother of Jesus got her visitation right in her own home.
Why not hold on to the keys and expect God to visit you. When he visits, every challenge vanishes and your story will change.
Reflect on the story of Hannah, Joseph , Daniel and you will see that they all used the keys mentioned earlier and got their breakthrough.
Brethren, work toward dvine visitation and the Lord will intervene in your situation in Jesus name.
Testimony- A man of over 60 years had a heart surgery in the United States of America and went into coma. The doctors called his son to endorse a document so that they could take him off oxygen. The boy refused. He declared for himself seven days fasting. On the seventh day, at the very hour he broke his fast, one of the doctors called him that his father had sneezed. That is, he roared back to life.
The boy got the testimony because he kept his faith alive, prayed ceaselessly and fasted. What method have you chosen to fast-track your miracle?
Take a decision today and expect a miracle.
Jesus is Lord!
