You can’t serve deities and prosper

It is pertinent for people to always do and take to corrections. Thinking in retrospect makes people to do corrections. There-fore, people should look and think about their past deeds so that they would know what they did wrong that requires correction.

No matter the condition or situation you may be, you are required to think of your past. If a person does not think of his past and make necessary corrections he or she might encounter suffering at the end of his/her life. The per-son may live long but in suffering before he or she dies.

Imagine an 85-year old mother of seven children that lost all through death because she did not remember to make required correction. Three days after the death of her last child, she died. She did not take cognizance of what was responsible for the death of her children and make amends.

People always focus on their future without looking back. In the course of my counseling, the Holy Spirit revealed a monstrous thing marching strongly behind a man that came to see me. I asked him if he had an idol or a deity his parents were worshipp-ing which he later discarded? He said he had an Ifa oracle before he met Jesus Christ and had since thrown it away. I told him it was the source of his problems including the death of his wife and children as well as his poor condition. He could not believe the revelation.

What is Ifa oracle? It is a place  where terrestrial people feed and drink from. After eating and drinking, they would inform the people in possession of the Ifa oracle that they would make it in life.

Truly the person would make it  for a while but later revert to former situation. These terrestrial powers manipulate the Ifa oracle for their own benefits. There is no benefit that could be derived from idols and deities because they would give you your request and later take something back from you.

I told the man that before he could cast away the Ifa oracle, he must be strong in Christ Jesus and God Almighty and be ready to totally forsake the Ifa oracle. Furthermore, you must obey the commandments of God and do His Will and pay your correct tithes regularly. Because the Bible says in Psalm 37:3 “Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness.” These are the things to do for Ifa oracle to run away from you.

It would not go away if you are not strong and consistent in serv-ing the Lord. Some so called born-again Christians still consult these gods. The Bible says in Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two mast-ers for either he will hate one and love the other or else he will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

A man of God that advises his member to throw away idol or deity must be ready to assist and support the member to overcome the idol when it is ready to fight back. Brethren, there is nobody that has Ifa oracle or other gods that does not worship or serve Satan. No one serves these gods and prosper. But prophets, pastors and people that serve God truthfully prosper, live better and comfortable lives.

Brethren, some people have misconstrued traditions or customs to be against the doctrine of Christianity. Before the advent of Christian beliefs, our fore-fathers were practising traditions or customs that were working for them positively. Any time they fail to observe or practise them, calamities would befall them.

In Africa, every nation, tribe, clan and families have their own customs. Such beliefs were put in place before the advent of Christianity. But today many people disregard and discard their customs with the mind-set that they are synonymous with satanic beliefs.

Jesus Christ did not condemn custom when he said in Matthew 5:17, that He came not to abolish the Law or Prophet but to fulfill them. In furtherance to the above, Jesus confirmed this, when he healed a leper and told him to tell nobody but should show himself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded as confirm-ation that the leper had been cleansed (Leviticus 14:1-7).

What is required of people is to avoid customs that recognise the  bowing of heads to idols and deities and serving them instead of Almighty God. Also reject custom that fail to recognise the spirit of love for God and man-kind. Brethren, let’s worship and serve the true living God.
