INYC marks World Youth Day with reorientation program

WARRI—The Itsekiri Nation Youth Council, INYC worldwide is set to commemorate the 2017 international world youth day with a 7-day value  re-orientation program commencing from Monday August 7, with the theme “Itsekiri Youths and contemporary state of the Itsekiri ethnic Nation in Nigeria.”

The comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro-led Itsekiri apex  youth body in a statement yesterday in Warri, Delta state signed by Mr Joseph Uwawah, P.R.O and Mr , Lucky Futughe, media /IT Director said  the 2017 event would be dedicated to the advancement of social justice, equity, rule of law and its enforcement in the Nigeria social system.

According to the statement, the event is billed to take place at the INYC National secretariat, Odion Road Warri.The INYC will also use the opportunity to formally unveil the ‘’ Deghele Declaration” and a Plague in honour of  their fallen heroes in the seven-year Warri crisis.

Event lined up for the 7-day programme include a sensitization rally, sporting/games, inter-communal wresting, art/craft exhibition/free medical test and drugs. Other items on the list are talent hunt, lecture by three resource persons including Professor Lucky Akaruese and Dr. Ireyefoju with the topic: “history of Itsekiri” and launching of INYC secretariat. There will also be a debate on the topic : Leaders or youths which is the problem of Itsekiri Nation.
