Kwankwaso foreign scholarship is a scam – Kano Anti corruption Agency

KANO – The Executive chairman, Kano Public Complaints and anti corruption Commission, Alhaji Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado Monday dismissed foreign scholarship awarded to Kano indigene under the administration of senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was a scam.

Muhuyi Magaji told Reporters in Kano that “the entire process orchestrated by the last regime was a network of fraud, and want yo say without fear of contradiction was a scam”.

It was an organized racket, a number of Rabiu Kwankwaso’s former appointee were involved in a scam that neatly knitted and hung on the ministries and parastatals “, the executive chairman of Kano anti corruption Commission stressed.

Rimin Gado said that ” we have a case at hand where the former commissioner of health, Dr. Labaran Yusuf, and his permanent Secretary, Umar Farouk Ibrahim were allegedly involved in an kickbacks to the tune of $650,000, remitted through a third party”.

The state Anti corruption Commission chairman disclosed that an unnamed suspect that was arrested in an Egyptian airport with $200,000 implicated the duo.

From the available evidence at our disposal, there are some people who are directly or indirectly benefitting from these fund here in Kano and are making frantic efforts to ensure status quo is maintained to cover their atrocities ”

Rimin Gado explained that following the monumental corruption associated with the foreign scholarship, he had advised Government to stopped forthwith the foreign scholarship program.

He disclosed that the Commission has equally involved Interpol in the course of its investigation, as he maintained that fund been siphoned the program was enough to pay a combined Kano students studying at various institutions of learning across Nigeria.

Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado advocated for Egyptian model of revolution to strengthened the anti corruption fight in Nigeria.

Rimin Gado said “we need a judicial revolution to strengthened our anti corruption fight in Nigeria, the more reasons why we must adopt Egyptian model to elevate the fight to next level “.
