THIRTY EIGHT-year old, legal practitioner and son of a farmer from Mmiata, Anam in Anambra West Council Area, Anambra State, Mr. Basil Onuorah has been elected the governorship candidate of Green Party of Nigeria, GPN, for the forthcoming Nov 18, 2017 governorship election in Anambra State.
Onuorah, a former governorship candidate and an industrialist in his acceptance speech promised to provide over three million jobs within the first four years if elected the governor of the state.
He said only the Green Party is well equipped to revive the nation’s economy through agriculture, adding, “I have age on my side, I want to fight crime with jobs, I want to carry along two million unemployed youth and one million unemployed job seeking graduates along.”
He promised to lead Anambra State out of what he called ‘lethargic governance’, and urged all citizens to join him as the task ahead is bigger than one person.
He polled 100 votes of the delegates out of the 105 accredited, three “no” votes, with two invalid votes at the primary presided over the National Chairman of GPN, Chief Sam Ekeh at the Nobles Hotels in Awka.
