RESIDENTS of Badara, a rural community in Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has commended the United Nation Children Fund, UNICEF; National Population Commission, NPC, and Bauchi State government for the birth registration campaign in the 20 Local Government areas of the state.
The District Head of Badara, Yusuf Aliyu, who gave the commendation, told Vanguard in his palace in Kirfi council that birth registration was the right of children, which no parent should deprive any child of.
Also speaking, Director of Primary Health Care, Kirfi Local Government, Yusuf Umar, said there was no resistance by residents concerning birth registra-tion as there was massive sensitisation campaign on its importance.
The intervention is a UNICEF maternal, new born child project, funded by the European Union.
