IPMAN’s ex-Dep President insists he’s BoT member

By Gabriel Enogholase

BENIN—THE leadership crisis in the Midwestern zone of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has become messier with its former Deputy National President, Elder Peter Agbonkonkon-Ogbeide, insisting that he remains the only member of the Board of Trustees, BoT, from the zone whose appointment was ratified by the association’s national leadership.

Agbonkonkon-Ogbeide, who was reacting to claims by the factional chairman of Benin Depot of IPMAN, Mr. Douglas Iyeke, that he was not one of the six BoT members of IPMAN, said he was appointed as a BoT member through a letter dated July 28, 2016 by the National President of the association, Mr. Chinedu Okoronkwo, and National Secretary, Alhaji Danladi Pasali.

In the letter, which he showed to journalists, the national leadership of the association said that the decision to appoint Mr. Agbonkonkon-Ogbeide as BoT member was taken at a meeting of IPMAN held on July 13, 2016 in Abuja.
