Femi Fani-Kayode Responds to N500m Suit Filed Against Him By Amaechi

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Culture and Tourism, has said that his lawyers would respond appropriately to the lawsuit reportedly filed by Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transport.

The minister, on Monday, reportedly issued a seven-day ultimatum to Fani-Kayode and Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Governor of Ekiti, to offer a public apology and pay him N1.25 billion, for linking him with the $43 million, found in Lagos by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the counsel to Amaechi, in separate letters to Fani-Kayode and Olayinka, warned that there would be stiff legal actions, should they fail to adhere to his demand over the alleged defamation.Fani-Kayode, however, in a statement signed by Jude Ndukwe, his special adviser, insisted he had not been served any court papers.”We have been inundated with calls concerning a threat by Rotimi Amaechi to sue Chief Fani-Kayode for defamation over the 43 million USD issue. We are not losing any sleep over this matter.”We have not received any court processes or letters from Amaechi but when we do so our lawyers will respond vigorously and appropriately. Thank you,”he said.

Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has made a staggering revelation on Facebook about the building that fatally collapsed within The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations premises in September 2014.According to Kayode, “There are strong speculations that Prophet T.B. Joshua’s church was brought down by a remote-control device and not a faulty foundation”.The famed lawyer’s shocking statement stands in contrast to the position of the Lagos State Government, which has been fighting a prolonged legal battle insisting the building collapsed due to structural faults.The Nigerian politician added that the helicopter which tragically killed Kaduna Governor Patrick Yakowa and Nigeria’s former national security advisor, Gen Azazi, in 2012 was “brought down by a similar device and by the same people”.The fiery advocate surmised that forces from within the then Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan’s intelligence were the brains behind both tragedies.“They were inspired, sponsored and encouraged by certain forces from outside government,” he said. “The objective was to weaken Jonathan and ultimately to get him out of power.”He then opined that the current travails of another Nigerian Pastor, Apostle Johnson Suleman, were also orchestrated by the same group.From the onset, T.B.
